The University of Texas at San Antonio

The University of Texas at San Antonio is located in the heart of the City of San Antonio, Texas just blocks away from major points of interest like The Alamo and Riverwalk. The campus offers one hundred sixty-seven buildings spread across over five thousand acres, making it a bustling hub for academics and research.

Students will find that UTSA has a student-focused culture with opportunities to study abroad, take part in internships or engage in undergraduate research programs. UTSA also has an impressive athletics program with twenty Division I sports teams including basketball, baseball, and football as well as many other intramural sports activities to choose from.

The university has a growing population of over 30,000 students. With such an active and welcoming community, there is always something happening at UTSA. Whether it's attending one of the many cultural events that take place on campus or joining in as UTSA takes part in Fiesta San Antonio each spring; be prepared to make memories you will always remember.

Interesting places to visit within the University

Main Building - One of the most well-known buildings on campus is The University's Main Building. It was built in 1975, and it has a rather distinctive look to its architecture compared to other parts of campus. This building mainly serves as office space for academic affairs, faculty staff offices, and communication services. You can see this beautiful building from afar. 

 

University Center - A lot of students know that UTSA is very proud to have their own Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in the University Center! This theater shows different types of movies on campus, and it has been really popular among faculty staff and students alike. The cinema also hosts special events such as Harry Potter marathons and Game of Thrones viewings. 

 

John Peace Library - This library is located in the heart of UTSA's Main Campus, making it very accessible for students to visit. The building itself stands out with its architecture compared to other buildings on campus because it has a lot of glass features that allow natural light into the building. Inside, there are a lot of study spaces, book collections, and quiet rooms. 

 

University Avenue - The main street that runs through UTSA's Main Campus is known as University Avenue. This part of the campus has been transformed into an outdoor mall with different types of restaurants to visit such as Starbucks or Church Hill Downs Restaurant & Bar. There is also the University Bookstore, which is where students can purchase school supplies and UTSA apparel.
